Biographical Information: Since June of 1974, Ann M. McNeary has been a member of Local 4671 of the Communications Workers of America and was an officer for nearly twenty-five years having served as Secretary in 1981; Treasurer from 1981 through 1987; and Vice President of the Local from October of 1987 to March of 2006. She is a steward for the Local. She currently chairs the statewide CWA Wisconsin Political Council. McNeary is on a Union Leave of Absence from Verizon (formerly General Telephone/GTE) and, since April of 1997, has served as an AFL-CIO Community Services Liaison, through the South Central Federation of Labor (SCFL), at United Way of Dane County. McNeary is the SCFL Liaison to the Interfaith Coalition for Worker Justice of South Central Wisconsin and the Workers' Council for the ICWJ Workers' Rights Center. She is Financial Secretary for the South Central Federation of Labor and previously was the Recording Secretary and a Trustee. She also recently served, as a Labor appointment, to the statewide Minimum Wage Advisory Council. McNeary received her BS-Business and MBA from Edgewood College and has an Associate Degree in Computer Programming from Madison Area Technical College. She also attended, but did not graduate from, UW-Madison and Marquette University. She has sung in the adult choir at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Sun Prairie for twenty-one years and was a volunteer ambulance driver for Sun Prairie EMS for over eighteen years, November 1986 to January 2005. McNeary has been a member of the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO Executive Board since 1998. |
