Congratulations to Justice Jill Karofsky who was been elected by the people of Wisconsin to a 10-year term on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The officers of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO released the following Election Night statement.

“Republicans who were willing to endanger Wisconsin lives by forcing in-person voting during a global pandemic for their own partisan advantage miscalculated the courage and tenacity of Wisconsin voters,” said Stephanie Bloomingdale, President of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO. “Voters have unseated an incumbent Supreme Court Justice for just the second time in 53 years. Union members have made our voice heard and voted for a fair, tough, independent Justice for our Wisconsin Supreme Court. ”

“Wisconsin union members have worked hard to elect our next Supreme Court Justice Jill Karofsky, a Justice who will protect the rights, well-being, and safety of working people while on the bench,” said Dennis Delie, Secretary-Treasurer of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO.  “Union members all over the state joined our virtual Wisconsin AFL-CIO phone banks and had meaningful conversations to turn out the vote for those who will support working people while in office.”
