Take Action

Working people need laws that protect our rights to organize, keep us safe at work, and advance racial and economic justice. Tell our elected leaders to pass laws that put working people first.

Share your experience. How has COVID-19 affected you? What you are seeing in your own workplace or places you are a customer or patron? Are you being asked to work without proper PPE or social distance in the workplace?

Every essential worker, whether on the front lines, working with the public, or simply working closely with coworkers, must have personal protective equipment, thoroughly cleaned and sanitized workplaces and social distance from one another to save their own lives and the lives of all Americans.

The labor movement is working nonstop to ensure workers devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic receive the protections and support needed during this challenging time. Get involved and make sure the needs of working people are heard.

Grocery stores workers and food processing workers are risking their own personal health and safety on the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis to stock shelves with needed food and supplies like toilet paper, soap and hand sanitizer that families across Wisconsin need during this pandemic. First responder status will help workers get 2 weeks paid leave, allow for grocery and food processing workers' children to be prioritized in childcare facilities and get the personal protective equipment they need.

On March 17, 2020, Governor Tony Evers urged the Wisconsin legislature to come together and repeal the one-week waiting period for workers to collect unemployment benefits.

This action will make a difference for working families who are suddenly and unexpectedly facing job loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Join the Wisconsin AFL-CIO in calling on all legislators to vote in favor of removing the waiting period for unemployment.
